My love of science and medicine and my pleasure in the delineation of living bodies, of following the behaviors of animals and humans, and of understanding the internal mechanisms underlying them, is also expressed in my illustration of science books. Working with scientists on their sometimes abstract ideas, I try to bring these ideas to life, by representing them in a way that would be humorous, attractive, simple, and yet, at the same time, accurate. How heredity and evolution unfold, mediated by genetic, epigenetic, behavioral and symbolic processes, the interconnections among different layers, levels and domains of life, the effects of history and philosophy on the winding paths of human thought, the mysteries of consiouness, are the topics dominating my book illustrations. These are expressed in my illustration and book covers for a textbook of general science and philosophy books like "Evolution in Four Dimensions" by Eva Jablonka and Marion Lamb, and "Transformations of Lamarckism" by Snait Gissis and Eva Jablonka, and Christopher Koch's book "Consciousness: Confessions of a Romantic Reductionist".
